Kiteboarding

Has anyone here ever tried it? Lemme know if its easy/hard, I can already snowboard, skateboard, and wakeboard at about advanced level.

It looks like fun I want to try it out. I live in chicago and people do it on Lake Michigan. Its expensive though if you want your own board/kite and equipment. Look at spending around 500-3,000.

Oh yeah. I see people kiteboarding just about every day at the beach. They all seem to be in their 20’s or 30’s, but a friend of mine (who’s also 18) had a kite and a board (they’re not standard wakeboards, or even mini surfboards; they have 3 fins on each tail). He said he had to take lessons for a couple weeks before he was able to properly control the kite. The kites are around 12m-18m, so they carry a lot of wind. You can easily get pulled 30 feet into the air, and over 100 feet from your point of launch. If you get caught in an updraft things can get very messy…

I really want to try it, but I don’t feel like spending so much money on it. I wish my friend still had his equipment, but he sold it to buy a new surfboard. Looks like a lot of fun though.

well judging from you avatar youve already acheived level 11 on a bike
