Kinport Miyata Handle

I just saw this over at Unicycle.com:

Is this the Steve Howard handle? It doesn’t mention that at all in the catalog description, but I’m pretty sure it is the same (or a very convincing duplicate).

Mr. Howard sent me a prototype demo of this handle and I’ve been using it for close to a month. It’s been alternating between my 20" trials Yuni and my 26" Pashley MUni and I love it. At this price, I highly reccomend it. That is, assuming that this is the same thing.

It looks like one of his handles and bumpers and the available colors are the same. I have a couple of them, too. They are much more stout and stiff than the new or even the old Miyata parts. The handle is roomier, too.

Kinport is a Mountain in Idaho, maybe he rides around there.

Makes me wana run out and get a sadle to put those on… darn things are better than the Miyata. He can’t be making material costs back. You’ll never get a labor of love at a better price. Is tipping appropriate?

hmmm need to spray paint red… MY GOD ITS THE ANSWER!!! too bad i already frakenstien fixed it  Hey do the bolts rub on your legs whe you ride? (to all those who have the frank fix)

Re: Kinport Miyata Handle

I had the frank fix, but it didn’t work because my handle cracked right across
in front of that. My legs rubbed so much I wore a hole in my $120 (CAD) shorts.
I ordered a SH handle set tonight (farther and farther into debt)… I can’t
afford this…

Re: Re: Kinport Miyata Handle

Sure you can… just make sure you have a friend that works at a bike shop and you get alot of your stuff cheaper. That’ll help alot.

Hey Dylan didn you have to put a pair of holes in your roach cover?

yeah, but they’ll be covered by the new handle.

i did the frankenyata fix, i screwed those bolts in pretty tight, so they kinda dent in the plastic, which makes it not stick into stuff as much, i havent had any problems with rubbing into stuff so far, might it be because i either wear mountain bike shorts with a liner or regular shorts over my expensive bike shorts?

take some time looking for bolts with nice smooth tops

Sorry I haven’t responded to this thread sooner but I’ve been out of town …

Yes - The “Kinport” handles are the ones I’m making.
