Kinda weird

Isn’t weird that unicycle.com changed their Off-road catagory to Rough Terrain and Freestyle to Freestyle advanced and freestyle advanced to freestyle expert

just being picky

Yeah, I just noticed that, too! It is kind of strange.

when did this happen?

Re: Kinda weird

I can sort of see the logic behind it. 99% of the unicycling I do is technically “Off road” but that can include car parks, cycle tracks etc. So saying “Rough Terrain” is perhaps a more accurate description. As for upgrading the freestyle section names, maybe it is so that newbies don’t get put off when first looking at the site - “Oh, I want to try out some freestyle moves, but I need to get a different uni”

The new definitions have much less of a “You want to do this, then you’ll need this” type feeling. I’m not phrasing this at all well, but hopefully you know what I mean (too early on a Sunday morning).

Have fun!

One of many reasons could be that they’re trying to be good marketers.
If they rename some labels then frequent visitors might click on the
link to see what else has changed. The next thing you know… they’re
buying a new unicycle of the “Rough Terrain” variety.
