kid on PBS' Zoom

They ran the Zoom show with the kid on the uni again last friday.

His name was given as Alex K. from Cranston, RI. At the end of the segment he
walked off on a pair of stilts.

His uni (he called it a yike–I prefer uke) had the seat with the phony metal
bumpers although one was missing. That’s the same seat that came on my 24" cycle
pro years ago but the bearing attachment was better. His looked like a clamp
type with half the clamp as part of the fork end, i.
e., the common type. Mine is an aluminum eyelet with the bearing pressed into
the eye and the shaft part of the eyelet stuck inside the tube of the fork
and held (briefly) in place by a pair of knurled allen headed bolts. It’s a
crazy idea.
