Kick-up mounts

I am trying to learn kick-up mounts and I need advice. Is it easier to go fast and get right into it or is it easier to go slow? Also does anybody have anything else that could help me? Thanks.

#1: Your new best friend.

#2: If #1 doesn’t help, you should probably take these kinds of questions to RSU, not JC; this is more of an off-topic forum.

I’m actualy happy he asked it here so I will be as helpful as I can.

A kick up mount is best learned while standing still and then doing the mount, once you get better at it then you can run or walk into it. First place your foot correctly onto the pedal, then place your other foot underneith the seat, then lift the uni by the seat, move your weight onto the pedal so that the seat can find its way to your thigh then place your other foot onto the other pedal and ride away.

i am learning kick up mounts now as well. i find the best way is to doing it standing still. i also find its easier to do with a lower seat and then once you get better you can move the seat up to its normal position

Dumb question: that’s done with the foot, right? You don’t bend down and pick it up?

yeah it is done with your foot, I use my back foot for it but I am wierd so this may be different for other people, just do what feels natural.

k thanks…I’m the same way about stuff…I do everything different.

I just went outside to try a kickup mount, and I don’t get it at all…I don’n know how to position the pedals or anything…

the pedal with your foot on it should be at 9 oclock relative to the frame.

i got one and then a couple more so its all good:)
