kh07 street uni

what is the weight of the kh07 street uni?
I was wondering this because I bought a trials uni but am now getting more into street and I know the main diferences are that trials unis have longer cranks and are genraly lighter, obviously I can chance the cranks fairly easly but I was wanting to know if I need to spend more money and buy a new frame if my uni is considrably heavyer than a light uni
I have looked on a few websites but havnt found its weight
i think this is going to be a very short thread, please can you just post what it weighs, thanks

I do not know the weight, but I do know you dont need a light uni for street. =p

Stock version is about 12 lbs.

thanks

surly it helps though, how noticable do you think it would be having an ultralight uni when hopping and riding street?

Mosty people don’t notice the 2lbs between the kh and dx that what I have read I don’t know personally. Plus it will make you a stonger hopper that way when you go to aluminum you even better =p.

The difference will be so small you won’t even know the difference only the crank size is changed so just look at the weight of the cranks and see from there. I have the old o6 frame and the older 135mm (or so) cranks and it is fine for both street and trials, though I tend to favour street stuff mainly.

so why do people pay so much more for lighter unis and components? do you think it has as much a mental effect as a physical effect on your jumping and riding ability?

i think the weight is like 5.5kg

I rode a 2005 KH 24, about 3-4 lbs. lighter than my 24" DX. The KH was a bit easier to make sharp turns, ride standing up, and climb hills. I found the 165’s on the KH prefferable to my 170’s. I was supprized I could tell the 5mm difference. The 170’s are just a bit too long for me to pedal fast smoothly, but still better than the 150’s.

Edit: the turning part may be in part to the different tires, but I doubt it. The KH had a 24X 3 Duro, and my DX had a 24X2.6 Kenda Kinetics.

sp4rky-m4rky,

Whenever you have a question about KHU you can go to www.krisholm.com

So, as you can see here http://www.krisholm.com/english/products/
KH20 weights 5.65 KG. However I would say the weight is now 100 grams higher since Kris changed the pedals from Snafu to Odyssey Jim Cielencki (heavier but stronger).

…And! weight (as size  ) does matter for sure!
KH Unicycles are very good and deserve the money…whatever other people may say

AH…there is no KH07 but KH20, KH24 or KH29; these models indeed have reached the 2007 generation. KH20 is a compromise between trials and street…specification wise

Hope this helps

Flaviu

My -07 KH20 weights 5.5 kg with K1 Biscuit pedals,CrMo seatpost and Monty EG tire. I’ve cutted about 5 cm off from that seatpost and weight has losen about 50 grams, so that should weight 5.55 kg. How much KH seat with CF seatbase would weight? 300 g? My uni would weight just 5.05 kg then… :astonished: Almost as much as XTP.

fo to caarbon fiber and lose the jel sack. thats how you really take off weight

“fo” and “jel” aren’t words (or?) and carbon has only one “a” in it. You mean take off the gel? That probably would feel uncomfortable. Native speaker’s writing is odd.

And yes, KH 20" should weight 5.65 kg
