yeah i picked up a kh '08 from kris a little while back, so its literally lying in the corner

hey justin,
it sounds like a bad batch of spokes. I doubt the drilled out rim had anything to do with it. call up whoever you got it from and tell them. you also might want to email kris; he may be interested to know of this breakage (it is the first I’ve heard of).

i came to the conclusion that the nipple flanges were defective.
heres a pic of the the uni laced with the 08 prototype kh rim…
Nice ride, like the tire.
Had the same niple defect on my costum wheelset, like 5 niples broke after a drop of a car (170cm high).

What is different about it structurally?
because this is a prototupe it had 1 flaw. the holes in the rim were drilled a little too big. But the spoke placement is different, wider set guess. thats all i really know
so can you tell a difference from 07, to 08, while riding it? are you sponsered by KH or something? i looked on the website and i dont think you were under the sponser section… 
The spoke offset is further apart? Closer to the sidewalls?
This will make the wheel further resist coming out of true
