Kaskade: Unicycle Article

For anyone who is one or has a friend who is a juggler and subscribes to the
magazine Kaskade: European Juggling Magazine, there is a piece on unicycles in
the latest issue. This focuses on novelty contraptions and includes blurbs on
a racing uni (with gears), a trice (three wheel giraffe, no chain), an
ultimate wheel (they call it “Impossible Wheel”), a mini uni, and the two of
most interest to me (at least) a recumbent unicycle and one made completely
from wood.

I’ll send them email and ask if I can scan the photos and post them somewhere.
(This may take a while).

They don’t post any content at the website (www.kaskade.de). But as an aside,
I’ll just say that it’s a pretty good magazine. It covers not just juggling, but
a wide range of skills including acrobatics, clowning (please no sneering) and
yes, occassionally unicycling. They publish articles about performers as well as
some good tutorials. Articles are all in German and English.

Wow. I bet Manfred Hartung and Eric Kolb will be mentioned in there…

That would be cool. I used to subscribe to Kaskade from issue #1 until a few
years ago. It was very enjoyable to read, plus there was frequent coverage of
unicycling. I was just getting too many magazines to read, and I had to cut
down. I highly recommend it.

Both mentioned. (Erik, though, with a “k”).

Also promises a future article to include discussion of the “big wheel”,
although they don’t specify exactly what they mean by this, Cokers or something
custom made.

What about those in deep denial because of the prevalent attitudes towards
jugglers on this NG ?

confused & secretive of Great Britain.
P.S. I am of course writing this for a friend
