just got a unicycle yesterday

I’ve been tossing around the idea for years, and a friend sent me a link to, well, this

made up my mind right there to buy one as soon as the local bike shop opens. Monday morning came and I bought a 24’ torker.

anyway, my name is Chad, I’m 29 and have been in the Air Force for just over 10 years. and i sincerely hope that the unicycle dosn’t end up in the closet with my guitar and other long lost but once hopeful hobbies

Welcome aboard,

the long lost but once hopeful hobbies are well known :D. I got a e-piano standing around here, doesn’t fit in the closet :stuck_out_tongue: and many more other things. It’s a shame :(. Anyway, i started unicycling 6 weeks ago or so and love it more with every day riding. I really hope, you’ll have as much fun as many riders do and there won’t be a reason to put the unicycle into the closet :).

Good luck and never give up, just keep on trying ;).

Shasaar

Welcome Chad.

Always keep in mind the sage advice of the great mentor in my sig block below.

I’m better today than i was last monday, lets hope the trend continues.

should I spend more time just balancing in place and slowly pedaling in place or should i just go for broke and try for distance?

Just mount and try to ride away. The higher the speed is the easier it is to balance. Stillstands are quite a challenge so I don’t think you want to start with that

Haha the first bit in your sig that homer says in on my homer mug  Well anyway welcome Chad remember the important rule if you cant do it…its the unicycles fault
