Jumping on a Torker Lx?

I have been doing really well on my 20 inch Torker LX, but I am afraid to hop. I weigh about 220 pounds, but I don’t plan on doing any big drops.

Should I start practicing hops now, or wait until I get my 24 inch Nimbus II in July?

Thanks for the help!

practice now, i have LX also, im about 195, its lasted me up untill about 20 minutes ago, i just did a 4ft drop on it, and bent the crank, but ive done 3ft drops on it before and it was fine, if ur just gonna be hopping around u shuld be fine

EDIT- oh and ive had it almost a year now

Get yourself an extra set of cranks and you can hop all you want. The rest of the uni will hold up as long as you inflate the tire enough to prevent a pinch flat :astonished:

I would hold off jumping around on a Torker if I weighed 220. A friend of mine who weighs under 200 bent the axle trying to learn to hop. The cranks are pretty cheap, too.

On the other hand, if you have another unicycle on order already, breaking your Torker would be a good excuse to buy a MUni or something.

I had a torker lx 24 inch,

I tried to do trials on it, but I never got good, I would really suggest getting a 20 inch trials. Also, on the torker, I could do a picnic table hop, but that really worried me, now I would happily drop of something bigger with my trials uni

I weigh around 215 lbs (probably 220 with Camelbak loaded) and hop on my Torker LX, but I wouldn’t ride off any drops bigger than a curb. The torker has held up fine for almost two years, though I mainly ride my KH24 now.

Thanks for all of your input.

I don’t want to do trials… It’s way beyond my level and I live in the middle of nowhere. I was just wondering if it would hurt to hop on it, but I’ve decided against it! Thanks everyone. I’ll practice sometime when I get a nicer uni and I no longer care about my torker.
