joining the uni croud after 35+ years

well I posted here a while back asking for input, got some good comments
Thanks to those that shared. So I ended up getting a 24" Torker LX
I have been lurking for some time now and noticed where as I thought I would be, well older, I am NOT and boy am I glad to see that
anyway my wife bought me the unicycle for my birthday and I got it this past weekend. we went to the tennis courts and after a good 30 mins of tennis I grabbed the uni, I used the fence and just rode around getting my bearings back
after about 20 mins I was able to get away with 2 to 3 pedals without holding on. I felt pretty good about that. so this morning I bought it to work as I have a concrete pad with a building to hold onto, it’s about 120’ long stretch
after about 45 mins of non stop practice this morning I was making it from one end to the other without holding on and without any UPD’s about 1 out of every 3 tries
I did fall 3 times :o but all other UPD’s were controlled or at least I stayed on my feet, only dropped the uni 2 times other than the falls
I don’t know but I’m feeling pretty stoked about my progress so far
not bad considering it’s been almost 40 years since I rode a uni last
I have to say it’s just as fun as I remember it being

Welcome back! I myself just started up several months ago after about a 10 year hiatus. I’ve been havin’ a blast. There’s a lot more options available than there used to be ā€œback in the dayā€, and with online forums and social media, the community we have access to is a lot larger. Enjoy!

Keep up the hard work. You’ll be riding great and having a lot more fun before you know it.

A lot of guys on this forum have similar stories.

Welcome back to unicycling. No one has to tell you how fun it is  Wow, it has to be crazy hot for you in Savannah. Enjoy yourself!

yea we are seeing 97 today with 106 index, I am only riding early in the morning and still drenched after 20 min
