well I posted here a while back asking for input, got some good comments
Thanks to those that shared. So I ended up getting a 24" Torker LX
I have been lurking for some time now and noticed where as I thought I would be, well older, I am NOT and boy am I glad to see that
anyway my wife bought me the unicycle for my birthday and I got it this past weekend. we went to the tennis courts and after a good 30 mins of tennis I grabbed the uni, I used the fence and just rode around getting my bearings back
after about 20 mins I was able to get away with 2 to 3 pedals without holding on. I felt pretty good about that. so this morning I bought it to work as I have a concrete pad with a building to hold onto, itās about 120ā long stretch
after about 45 mins of non stop practice this morning I was making it from one end to the other without holding on and without any UPDās about 1 out of every 3 tries
I did fall 3 times :o but all other UPDās were controlled or at least I stayed on my feet, only dropped the uni 2 times other than the falls
I donāt know but Iām feeling pretty stoked about my progress so far
not bad considering itās been almost 40 years since I rode a uni last
I have to say itās just as fun as I remember it being
Welcome back! I myself just started up several months ago after about a 10 year hiatus. Iāve been havinā a blast. Thereās a lot more options available than there used to be āback in the dayā, and with online forums and social media, the community we have access to is a lot larger. Enjoy!
Keep up the hard work. Youāll be riding great and having a lot more fun before you know it.
A lot of guys on this forum have similar stories.
