I just started a blog called hippie tricks for the promotion of alternative sports like unicycling, juggling, poweriser, flybar, slacklining etc.

Anyone is free to sign up and post tips, pics, and vids of your unique skills. Hope to see you there!

Is unicycling a “hippie” sport?

No, neither is juggling.

Unicycling isn’t much of a hippie sport, but juggling totally is, and slacklining…all forms of juggling basically. All the hippies 'round here do it.

Frisbee, too.

PS…I just decided, I really like the term ‘alternative sport’ it describes stuff I do well…not that I do them well, but that it describes them well.

According to The Onion unicycling is not only a hippie activity, it is a hippie non-sport.

Hippie Very Involved In Hippie Non-Sports

AUSTIN, TX—According to acquaintances of the 22-year-old hippie, Chad Beresford is a frequent participant in hacky sack, frisbee, and other hippie non-sports. “Chad’s way into all that stuff: juggling, devil sticks, and yo-yo tricks,” friend Aimee Kolkos said Tuesday. “From stilt-walking to unicycling, there isn’t a non-competitive, stoner-friendly quasi-non-sport he hasn’t tried.”

I juggle, and unicycle, and I’m definitly no hippie.

Hey, I went to the TX Jugglefest in Austin last week… That name sounds familier, but I’m not sure…
