Hi, Phillipe! Sorry, it didn’t occur to me to define my terms. (For those who
don’t yet know Phillipe, he is French.)

Jock is the short version of “jock strap,” also called an “athletic supporter.”
It is the first layer of clothing you put on, under all others. Its purpose is
to contain, support and protect the male genitalia during vigorous activity.

Jock has also become a term used to refer to male athletes, as in, "He’s a jock

  • he rides a unicycle."

Jocks are available at any sporting goods store, and many general clothing
stores as well. They cost about $5 U.S.

I can’t believe I’m answering this but here’s what the Random House dictionary
has to say about the “jock” (actually its a jock strap)

jockstrap (jok’strap’), n. an elastic supporter for the genitals, worn by men
esp. while participating in athletics.

Probably the closest picture to describe one would be the G-string, or the Thong
type of bathing garment that seems to popular these days, though the rear
portion consists of two straps forming a V across the back as opposed to one
vertically oriented one
