jesse heller, high school student, killed by a drunk driver

There’s no tension. Greg is awesome and he knows I know it.

I referred to you as “the monkeyman” when talking to Greg. I don’t know if Greg knows your name, so monkeyman ensures clarity (those scientific types like that).

And then I adressed you, more personally, as Alex. This shows that I made the effort to remember your name. It’s like when someone at a store or eating place uses the word “today”. As in “what can I get you today?” – it shows they remember you’ve been there before. It’s a sign of familiarity.

I always call Mr. Harper “Greg”, because he chose his last name as his user name. I don’t like calling people by their last name. It seems too commanding, too gruff. Perhaps I could use little-h ‘harper’, which is a clear reference to his user name, not his last name. I wonder what harper thinks about that idea. Maybe I could add quotes to further disambiguate. I wonder what “harper” thinks about that.

I don’t know; some say that I think too much (but you asked).

Edit: there is an apparent randomness to Greg’s use of your names, but maybe I just don’t know the algorithm.
