jesse heller, high school student, killed by a drunk driver

on sunday(mothers day) a senior from my high school was on his way to the movies when the truck got t-bonef by a drunk driver running from the cops, it hit jesses door and the truck looked like it had been folded in a 45 degree angle, later that day he was prenounced brain dead, earlier this week he died, he was only 17.

today was a HUGE skate jam for jesse at a local skate park, i went with my uni, there was probably about 250-300 people there throughout the day, thousands of dollars worth of donations and funds raised, and the channel 5 news was there(ill post a link to the story when they update there site)

i didnt even think i knew jesse because i never heard his last name but today i saw his picture, and i had actually talked to him a few times, its hard to imagine him dead.

i think people need to more aware of what they can do while drunk driving, it happens far too often.

channel 5 hasent done the story on the site yet but kare 11 did
story

takes off hat in respect
It’s a shame when someone dies that young, especially when it’s caused by someone being irresponsible.
Hopefully there will be less drunk driving around there.

What a waste.

Drunk driving is definitely one of the hugest problems there are…it’s always a pity when something like this happens…my condolences to you.
Were they at least able to catch the driver?

Since I rarely drink, all my friends know they can call me any time for a ride. I wonder why they never take me up on it. I really wouldn’t mind.

Few people want to be ridden home drunk on a unicycle.

It’s a weird thing to be young and in high school and have your friends die, commit suicide, or be killed senselessly.

Harper/Greg (do you care if I jsut say Greg, even though we never really “met”? Name’s Alex, by the way), I mean this in a completely serious, not-poking-fun-at-your-age way, but do you actually know what that’s like? How were the state of things like that when you went to highschool?

I had a good friend who was driving, got into an accident that was his fault, and the girl he was with was killed. I had two friends killed in auto accidents by themselves. I had a friend who committed suicide before he graduated. All before I left high school. Not poking fun at your age, Alex, but death and tragedy existed before you were born.

I guess I did sound a little [read:VERY] ignorant there, it just seems like (from my not so experience-filled) life, that things have gotten much worse since back when you were in highschool.

Yeah, but they must have gotten much better since when I was in grade school. When I was in the third grade one of my classmate’s father murdered a policeman. Oh, that’s impossible. Nothing was bad during the Eisenhower administration. Your memory about what went on when I was a child must just be better than mine.

yes, the jackass was also injured so he is in the hospital too

was this in coon rapids? there was a event at Sand creek park over the weekend.

I’m sure that by now, if you didn’t already, you think I’m just a dumbass 16 year old…I wasn’t trying to imply that I knew better then you.
I was just pointing out that from most people’s views of teenagers, it seems like things are probably much worse now then they were back then. If I’m wrong, then I’m wrong.

Listen, young men. If you two don’t play nice I’m going to take away your Unicyclist.com. Harper and monkeyman, I’m ashamed at you,the way you’re acting.

Billy-

I feel your shame. It takes a village to feel shame.

Well. It’s about time you felt some shame, young man. Remember this, and make a committment to behave, at least here in the public forum.

Greg,

Why are you picking on the monkeyman? He is AWESOME and you know it. And he’s right. While yes, there were always accidents and suicides and violence and death, I do think things are worse now. You didn’t have metal detectors in your school, did you?

Alex, don’t listen to Greg – just this once.

Monkeyman is a cool guy, I’m not picking on him.

There were always tragedies such as suicides, accidents, murders, and misssppelllings.

Things were not worse until you entered this thread and used the word, “awesome.”

We didn’t have metal detectors in our school…or running water.

Alex is clearly listening to me selectively which further exemplifies his wisdom.

So…to defuse some tension, why exactly do you people refer to me as both “monkeyman” and “Alex” in the same post? Is monkeyman an alternate identiy?

No. Alex is.
