Java Book?

anyone have a good book for java? ive been looking into it for a little
bit today and it seems very similar to stuff like c and php so i was
looking for something more thats maybe not really newbie-ish…

Personally I do not like the way that Java works. I’m sitting here in
class working and the professor is writing all these goofy procedures that
in my mind is more wasteful!

But, if its a book you’re after I’ll reccomend the book they use here at
the 101 level: Java Software Solutions: Foundations of Program Design by
John Lewis & William Loftus ISBN: 0-201-61271-2
