I've added some more videos...

I’ve added some more videos to my album today. They’re at http://www.unicyclist.com/gallery/albun59. I’ve added five of them including:

  • Balancing on top of the wheel for a bit
  • An unattached see-saw
  • Still stands (sort of)
  • Another rail
  • Another ladder

You can also see my new seat in the videos!

Andrew,

Very cool! I’d personally never ride up onto something that loose. The second one (of the new ones) where the whole thing just falls over is kinda unnerving. I especially dig the last video, at the end it looks like the bit ends just before becoming especially interesting.

Cool vids!

Lewis

Hey Lewis,

This morning the MUC got some awesome TV coverage on one of those morning, “get you out the door,” local, talk programs. We got it on video but I can’t post it on the web. Can you do that from VHS on your set-up?

The club promo was about the uni-wine race that we created for the “Viva la Vino Festival” this Saturday in Overton Square, here in Memphis. Ted did an awesome job of riding around in a studio space of about 8X8 with a tray with a glass of wine on the tray.

Everybody is welcome to come to Memphis and play in the MUC this Saturday. We will be making it up as we go along. You never know what adventures await.

Tommy

Lewis,

Thanks for the kind words. The thing about the last one is that I didn’t actually make it any further:). In the 10 minutes or so that I spent on that one that was the furthest I got. I’ll try making it a bit more sturdy next time, I think that’ll help. It wasn’t as bad that time but when I hopped onto the bit after the ladder the whole thing tilted forward about 10cm and then back again. That was fun!

Andrew

Andrew,

What kind of unicycle is it that you have right now? I was just wondering.

Nikki

Andrew,

Yeah thats what I meant by it getting interesting. I wanted to see the fall … but only if you didn’t get seriously hurt, which you didn’t.

It did look like a ton of fun, though.

When I get home it is dark, so I don’t get to ride much except on the weekend. I don’t like riding at night without proper lighting (meaning the kind I dont wear).

Lewis

Lewis,

I’ve only got one video of a fall and it’s just a little one (the one called “Gapping between rocks - Failed Attempt”). I’m actually a bit worried because you hear about all these people who have hurt themselves badly at some point in their life and I haven’t. I go mountain biking and unicycling a lot and I’m worried I’m due a bad fall.

Nikki,

It’s a cheap one that cost me $200AUS. I think it might be Cycle Design or something like that. I just got the new seat to put on the new one I’m getting (see my signature) and the knobbyish tyre was given to me. It’s been fine for a first unicycle but after bending and rebending the cranks, hub and rim I think it’s time for a new one. I can’t wait!
