IUF Rulebook DRAFT version, please read and comment

Hi all,

I have finally finished the draft of the 2002 IUF Rulebook. I have just
posted it so the IUF Rulebook Committee can go over it and make sure I did
everything right. You are invited to join in this process as well, if you
like.

Please note: THIS IS NOT THE FINAL, OR OFFICIAL RULEBOOK. IT IS ONLY A
DRAFT. DO NOT MAKE TRANSLATIONS FROM IT OR TREAT IT AS OFFICIAL. The final
version will be very similar, but some edits are likely still to come.

We will work on finalizing and approving this rulebook as soon as possible,
so it can be distributed to the unicyclists of the world for study and
translation. I’m offering this early look for people who were concerned
about what the rules were going to be.

Please note, the rulebook does not contain everything. Local conditions at
conventions will add events and usually additional restrictions as well. For
example, no metal pedals will be allowed on the track or in the gyms at
UNICON 11. This is not included in the rulebook because some facilities may
be less strict.

If you would like to assist in the proofing process of this draft, you can
compare it to the proposals made and passed by the IUF Rulebook Committee
last year. These can be found here:
http://www.unicycling.org/iuf/committee/index.php
Note there is a link near the top of this page for a “summary of all passed
proposals,” which should simplify things.

Compare those proposals to the rulebook and see if they have all been
included without mistakes.

The IUF Rulebook Committee is open to anyone who wants to participate in
writing and reviewing proposals for improvements to our rules and events.
There will be no additional changes to the rules for 2002, but after the
convention we will again be open to new proposals. We may even have a
meeting or workshop on this subject at UNICON. Read the Rulebook Committee
Web site for more details.

The draft rulebook is available as a PDF or a zipped MS Word file. Both are
in the 300-400 KB range. They are located here:
