It's not like me to swear in a thread-title, but...OMFG!!!

John Lennon’s glasses are up for auction.

:astonished: OH MY GOSH!! :astonished: That’s gonna cost a pretty penny if not alot.

Wow…

It doesn’t say anything about certification though.

That is amazing, i wonder who is going to buy them? didn’t yoopers once win the lottery? he could splurge out.

If everyone on this site put in $100 unicyclists could own them!

I bagsy them on Wednesdays.

The auction doesn’t mention what the prescription is for the glasses. How will I know if I can wear them?

True, but the article states that the owner removed the lenses when Lenon died, as is their custom, so unless you’re 0.0 0.0 they won’t do you much good.

I missed that part. He destroyed the value of the glasses by removing the lenses. They can’t be worth more than $.99 without the lenses.

Now if they were Groucho Marx’s glasses…
Well, that would be another thing.

Shotgun fridays

John, I think the prescription of those glasses is very much like the fuel-consumption on a Bentley.
Or the length of the cord on the Orpheus.

1.5 million for a pare of lensless glasses? I’d rather spend the same amount on the two Star Trek models that were recently auctioned off by Christies. The Enterprise A, about 8’ long, and the Enterprise from the Next Generation series, about 5’ long. I think the combined amounts they went for was still under 1.5 mil.

Of course the glasses would be easier to store in your house…

If I had that much money, instead of buying a pair of glasses, I’d buy food for homeless people or donate it to help find a cure for AIDS.

I would maybe spend that much on a lock of Axl Rose’s hair…but not for lenseless glasses. Sheesh.

Who’s John Lennon?

I bet pdc buys them.

Dude…nuh uh.
Are you for serious man?

Forrest does that sometimes…
like “What’s rap?” “What’s a hippie?”
He’s said stuff like that a few times…

Ok well I’ve heard of him, yeah.

But that’s about it…

Haha.

@Forrest: In case you honestly don’t know:

You poor poor boy. You have lived a sheltered life haven’t you.
