Today I went on my first MUni ride in 4 years. I've been riding for 7 years now, but 4 years ago I moved from Wastington state to Kentucky and haven't been riding (well at least not MUni ; I have been regularly riding on the road) since the move.
When I lived in Washington I did MUni with a group of friends, but when I moved here I quit. I guess that I was upset about the move. At any rate I never got back into it...well at least not until today.
I knew that there was no way that I could ride like I used to so I decided to take an average hiking trail. I supprised myself by making the trail (which was very easy anyway) without any problems. After completing the very short trail (1 mile) I decided that I wasn't done. So I went on to ride another trail.
It was a 1 mile Mt biking trail (medium). I had a little bit of troubble, (hopping onto a 1ft high rock) but in my opinion I did fairly well.
By the end of the trail I had decided that I am going to invest in a new MUni (I was riding a regular uni with a knobby). If there are any suggestions on MUni's in the $600-700 range, they would be greatly appreciated.
The power pashley from Unicycle.com is pretty good in my opinion for an
entry level price. The wheelset is real strong (except for the cranks but
it’s another story), and 26’’ makes it a good approach for cruising in the
woods. Never had a problem with the frame/lollipop bearings bolt interface
so far. Sturdy frame.
