It started with a spider bite

:astonished:

Haha, that had to be the worst wall flip ever. I love how everyone laughs, yet he still tries to play the part.

It’s funny because he tries to get up afterwards acting like nothing happened. I wonder what the mother was thinking when she saw that. “Hmmm…maybe bug spraying the wall wasn’t such a good idea” :stuck_out_tongue:

Ouch, that must’ve hurt.

As funny as it may look to see spiderman fall on his head, it’s actually a man in a costume who doesn’t have superpowers and probably feels pain just like we do. He had a dangerous accident and people are laughing at him. Not cool.

Looked to me like the wall was slipperly. Stupid for him not to check first, but cool on him to play it off like nothing happened.

And he’s done a ton of backflips before that fall. Surely, there must be worse spidermen out there than he is.

You’ve never laughed at someone in pain?
And you’ve never had someone laugh at you, when you’re in pain?
Granted, he landed on his back/neck so he could have seriously hurt himself, seriously, but he got up right away and he was fine, so I think it’s safe to have a chuckle or three.

Well, come to think of it, there is this old blind beggar that goes around town asking for money and giving people beautiful wild flowers in return. I enjoy taking a run-up, kicking him in the back, thus knocking him down, tramping on his flowers and then sitting on a bench near-by, laughing at his attempts at stopping the blood-flow and getting up. He always comes back for more, so I can assume that he’s not seriously hurt. Either that, or he can’t see me coming.

And yes, there used to be these kids at school that would throw rocks at me. If I regained my consciousness fast enough for them not to disappear I would always find them laughing.

You know human nature really well, my girl.

haha I was kicking off of a wall of ice and slipped making my land on my head once. I am still not a big fan of wall flips because it is rather hard on the ankles also. Flips are much more predictable off the ground. That clip made me laugh though cus it just reminds me of when I slipped on the ice.

Schaaaaaadenfreude,
Schaaaaaadenfreude,
The world needs people like you and me who’ve been knocked around by fate.
'Cause when people see us, they don’t want to be us, and that makes them feel great.

I’m not talking about causing pain to others on purpose, and you know that. I’m talking about minor accidents…such as attempting a wall flip and failing. Or doing a drop on your unicycle, and racking yourself hard. Painful for you, yes, but hilarious for us!
It goes both ways, though. Like, when I rack myself unicycling, it sucks, but it’s funny anyway!

He has to. He’s Spiderman! In other words, he’s got a job to do. If he’s not injured, he has to minimize the crack he just created in Spiderman’s image, which is also his own image until he’s done working in front of that group.

Believe me, I’ve been there. Somewhere else in these forums is my tale of a very bad dismount from my 6-footer where the wheel rolled back into the wall and sent me sprawling partially off the edge of an extremely shallow stage. Kids thought it was hilarious, for the same reason the kids laughed in the video. Not only was he Spiderman, but he had also already demonstrated some good, solid acrobatic skills before attempting the wall. If he had gone straight to the wall, or if I had just ridden out on that unicycle, without first being introduced as a world champion and doing my whole Freestyle act, there would be a lot less cause to laugh because our expertise would not already have been demonstrated.

Still, it’s worse for Spiderman because he comes with the expectation of superpowers even before he does a few un-Spidermanlike handsprings and such. I’m just a unicycle guy, subject to gravity like everybody else.
