Is this stuff going to work?

So I’ve got some extra $$$ and I figured what better way to spend it, then on unicycles!?!

Anyways I just need somone to tell me if all these parts will get along nicely.

This rim

This Hub

This tire (I know, but I ordered it when I was young and foolish)

These here cranks (137’s of course)

Now I need somone to tell me where to get some badazz spokes and nipples for this combo…please

what color rim, not that it matters

I don’t know man its whatever. I already got the black/silver theme covered on one of my unis. Meh, I like the blue, purple and gold rims. But I haven’t decided yet

Make sure the V!Z rim has 36 spoke holes. I would just go with KH, but it’s up to you.
If you want a nice set of spokes, I would go through Koxx. They have Double butted spokes in 170mm length (the length you need). They are lighter and stronger than ordinary spokes. For nipples, don’t go aluminum. I know that they come in all these funky colors, but they strip ridiculously easy. Go brass!

Alright then thanks man. I would go with the KH rim but I’ve heard its no bueno. I’m guessing to order the spokes through renegade juggling? They sell spoke sets for $25 I just don’t know if there Koxx spokes, but I would think they are.

They’re probably DT spokes. Ask specifically for double butted spokes.
KH rim is a good rim. What’s more important is a properly built wheel with maintenance.

The KH rim is almost identical to the V!Z rim, only difference is the anodizing the shape of the hole and the KH has a slightly rounder cross section on the outer wall.

Basically with all of these parts, it comes down to personal preference. Most parts these days have ups and downs, nothing is the perfect thing to get anymore, just be sure to have your wheels professionaly built, whether you know how to build a wheel perfectly, or you have it built by someone you trust.

Also for spokes, I would get them custom cut by a bike shop. Because you are using disimilar parts, you won’t be able to buy any stock spokes, you will have to get them cut by someone, and having them cut by the person who is going to build your wheel, just makes soooo much sense when the wheelbuild is the most important part.

I like your idea of getting them cut by the wheelbuilder. But what guage spokes shoud I ask for?

13 or 14. 13 is an odd number for most places to carry in stock, so I usualy just stick with 14, but 13 is what comes stock on KH unis, and its a bit beefier.
