Is it a big mind game?

Haha yeah, I was just telling Evan about that show. I hate it so much. I change the channel every time it comes on now, it makes me want to stay in my house and never get out of bed.

If there is a something big you’re trying to hit the best thing to do is just go. Once you see it, do it. The more you ponder it, the more you freak about it. Sometimes freaking=too much carefullness which means a fall. Sometimes just going with out thinking is the best idea.

yep i think this is a massive part in how i ride…

coz i kno that if im not syked up to go for a ride, or if im feeling a bit low in any way or tired then i will have a shit ride and will stack on the smallest of things and not enjoy the ride at all!

But afta i watch a sweet trials vid posted by u guys, then ill get syked up and want to go out and recreate wat i just saw! Wen im in this head state i hav a great ride and do my best effort

not thinking can help…
I have had times where I see a line and do it and then think “ohh… that should have been scary” and if I thought first I would have taken longer to do it

do NOT syked yourself out, if your doing a drop do not stand at the top lookin down for ages or you will syke yourself out and most likely fall!

KNow your skill level also some people have said if you believe you can you will this is bullshit! Belief has its purpose but if your skill level cannot handle that line etc no matter how much you believe it wont happen until you improve.

And finally learn how to bail properly and if doing a trial line or something find the most likely places you will bail and seek a away out

I would have to say that if you have time to look at an object you should FIRST visualize ways in which you can fail and have a plan for those events THEN visualize your success so the success part is what is in your brain when you go for it.

If I would have thought of the dynamics of falling at high speed with a backpack on before my ride on Wednesday I probably would have destroyed my bike gloves (and possibly injured my wrists) doing a superman instead of automatically going into the roll that resulted in a separated shoulder requiring surgery.

when bombing down some singletrack you have no time to visualize failure before it happens so visualize success!
