I play stuff like Bach Fur Elise…etc.
I used to play classical stuff, but lately I’ve been learning chord driven pop styles. Mostly I prefer synthesizers now.
I play piano but im that good.
i’ve been playing for like 8 years. I like playing the song Rondo A la Torque by Mozart.
I’ve played for 6 years.
Here’s a pic of me at a small Christmas recital. I was about 2 years younger then than I am now, so I look a lot more “kiddish.”
I’m pretty good. I have two pianos in my house. A Grand piano and an upright piano.
my friend is sooo good at piano, he can just make anything up on the spot, or he can listen to any random song you want and play it just like THAT. he even did the song My Hump, on the piano. it takes MAD SKIZZLEs to do that, yo.
I can play Super Mario music on the piano, LOTR, Harry Potter, Entertainer and so on! I think the piano is awesome!
i also play the classic mario theme but i’ve been taking classical piano for 10 years, jazz for 2, and have played trumpet for 5 now. but out of all the stuff i’ve played mario is the most fun! i’ve thought about playing trumpet while i’m riding but one bad fall and i wont have any teeth so…not planning it anytime soon. ttyl

my sister is a pianist.
i’ve been a violinist for about 7 years… have been out of practice for about a half a year now… i also play mandolin, trombone, a little wee bit of french horn, and air guitar.
Ya had to use the word ‘good’ piano player, didn’t you? Now I can’t participate in this thread.
The thing about piano is that ‘good’ isn’t a very useful descriptor. I mean, if you can strum a few chords on a guitar, people think you’re good. But, with piano, playing a few chords usually doesn’t cut it. Also, if you’re more classically trained, the habit is to play from printed music. So when asked to play something, unless you’ve memorized something, it’s easier to just give a blank stare.
Would it have been better if he had said “pianist”? Or would the classical connotations of that word scare you away more?
We spent Thanksgiving with the family in Marion, IL. I’ve uploaded a clip of my 97-year-old grandmother playing piano for the family to the galleries. She still gets out to the senior once a week to play. We’re all pretty proud of her.

I used to play piano, self taught, I liked playing Bach’s two part inventions. Now I play cello in the university’s philharmonic.
I did build a harpsichord from a kit, but I can’t play it any better that the piano. It is pretty nice to have though, it was the instrument for which Bach composed many of the things i can play.
i play billy joel music. and yes what he actually plays. if you are interested in photo copies of this sheet music. please pm me
Clarification: She still gets out to the senior center once a week to play.
I actually started out my college career as a music major in piano and vocal performance, but I decided I ought to be able to feed a family someday so I switched majors to Physics.
Nice pic of Gram. Music is so good for the soul!
Threadjack:
I was physics math my first two years of college, switched to scupture!!
Eventually I went to grad school back in the sciences, but it sure was fun doing sculpture for 10 years before I “got real” about life!!
Do you still play or sing?
Yep, both. Except this Sunday I’ll be on guitar. Never sculpted though. Mary took a pottery class in college (NMU) and since has always wanted to throw a pot. Maybe someday we can make that happen.
During my freshman year (West Virginia Wesleyan), I took one of the little stickers from a prescription bottle that said “May cause drowsiness” and put it underneath the word “Physics” on the front of my textbook. I still have the book some 25 years later.
A friend of mine was a music major and great piano player in undergrad college then obtained a Masters in physics. He’s now a piano designer for Steinway.
Dude hardcore
