iPhone 3G

Went and looked at it’s site and this thing has twice as much hard drive as my computer, and weighs about 1/100th as much. Not only that, but it’s 1/5th the price my computer was new. (ok, ok, my computer is 10 years old…)

Therefore, I must say: me wanty.

Is anyone planning on getting this?

And what’s up with the telescope?

That’s probably a zoom attatchment letting it take high quality photos. My cousin works at apple so I’ll probably get it.

Too bad it only is available on AT&T, and too bad you still have to hack the iphones sold in the US to make them work internationally (or so I hear).

well, you can roam internationally, it just costs about a dollar a minute.

I am going to get a job this year, and if I do I am thinking I might get one because there isn’t much else I’d use the money for. Smart / iPhones are awesome too, it is so great to be able to IM people anywhere and just use all the neat features they have.

my friends friend is selling his cracked (hacked to run on any plan) iphone for $170. I am thinking about getting it.

I wouldn’t get it, too much of a risk of it getting turned into an iBrick…

Whoa, I can’t make much sense of what you’re saying…

…let’s see…

twice the hard drive * 1/100th weight * 1/5th price * 10 years = 2/50ths driveweightprice*years

So the iPhone 3G is 0.04 byte-gram-cent-seconds? That’s an awfully small number. Why would you want anything like that?

For “ignoring” me that guy sure has a lot of posts in my threads…like 3 small boxes per page:p

The iPhone is pretty sweet, my brother has one. Keep in mind, the plan is pretty hefty… but you get unlimited downloads in the US  Oh, also check coverage for area… the new iPhone runs on the 3G network, which isn’t available in all areas yet… like Vermont :stuck_out_tongue:

I got one yesterday.
Now I have both the 1.1.4 (old) and the 2.0 (3G) iPhone.

Now waiting for the non-console crack tool, so I can use it on other networks.
The 3G SIM (which I hacked so it doesn’t allow incomming calls) then will go into my GSM gateway connected to an FXO PCI card on my own VoIP PBX.
And once the 3G can run vt100 (and ssh) correct, I might sell my old iPhone.
