Interesting exchange I had on Gameknot (chess-site)

So check this out.

Gameknot.com is a popular chess site, free or you can join for a small fee to play extra games. As a member I have a profile page, which has the comment in the “Additional info” section: “I mountain unicycle and I work for peace”, alongside a nice pic of me on my muni.

So I join a game with this guy “zep5686”, and 5 minutes later he cancels the game (you can cancel within the first two moves) and I get this pm from him:
"Game cancelled by zep5686 with the following note: “fuk peace , war is more profitable ? ;o))”

Never being one to leave well enough alone, I responded:
“Nevermind the war/peace thing. Why’d you cancel?”
him: “dont want ta play with u , , ? reason enough?”
me: “because I work for peace, or because I mountain unicycle?”
him: “both ,”
me: “Yeah, I know - peace is so un-American, eh?”
him: “rite , we need ta dominate the world , or else it will do the same ta us , if u think different yer afool , an this is our last pm , yer blocked !”

So he threw a nice insult my way and bravely cut off communication. My next reply would have been something along the lines of “Then why aren’t you fighting in Iraq?” Of course, I think I know the answer.

Interestingly, he has many games going (44 currently) and almost all of his games are with players whose ratings are 100 points or more lower than his.

If anyone would care to pm him for me with that question, I would enjoy that. I like to heckle people. Something I probably got from Billy.

I’ll ask him next time I play.

Only, I don’t think it will do much good. I doubt you can convince someone of your point by pestering them, but oh well: it’s fun.

Now you will never know if this mental giant is a better chess player than you.
