Interesting Dutch Products...

This question is directed at anyone who lives in the Netherlands, or who knows what they’re talking about.

My parents are taking a trip to Leiden, but are going to driving all around the country over the next 2 weeks, and I was curious if there were any cool unicycle related things that are strictly Dutch, and if not is ther anything really interesting and neat NOT unicycle related that I should have them bring back for me?

They’re leaving tomorrow (the 2nd) but I will be talking to them sometime while they are there.

I know your post doesn’t need to be stoked quite yet, but this’ll get it back at top.

I was just wondering when you’d be free so we could meet up, if your not busy this week or whatever.

Also I think your parents should get you a unicycle with a horse and buggy wheel, i’ve seen one online once, after I thought it would be neat to make one, thats what happens when you live in Lancaster Co. I guess.

Hey Andrew,

I have to apologize about not getting back to you sooner… my life has been insane the past few weeks.

For the same reason as i have started this thread (my parents leaving) i will also be temporarily banned from unicycle riding. Aparently my mom has seen me do enough stupid stuff to merit my not being allowed on one wheel while no one is in the country to sign for medical care if I need to be hospitalized. When they get back, I will let you know immediatly and we can work something out. Building an “Amish” unicycle might be a good use of my time away from uniing… good ol’ Lancaster county…

You may visit Utrecht, the place where semcycle builds it unicycles:

There is a bicycle museum in Nijmegen:

Non uni/cycle related and tourist points:

The most typical tourist park is:
http://www.madurodam.nl/ in The Hague. It’s the country in minuature. And when you there go to the beach in Scheveningen.

There is a very small version of the provence Zeeland on http://www.miniatuurwalcheren.nl/

http://www.neeltjejans.nl/ used to be a (created) working isle, for the “Deltawerken”, the impresive system to protect the country of the floatings like the disaster on 1 feb 1953.

Aviation museum:

Theme park:

Theme park:

Water park:

Safari park:

You gotta hand it to moms, they care : )

It’s ok, life is bussy sometimes, have fun making your amishuni.

what about Klaas Bil? i think he falls under “cool unicycle related things that are strictly Dutch”

ha ha ha! So how ‘bout it Klass (in hopes that you will actually read this), want to come to good ol’ Pennsylvania with my folks?

and thanks for all the links leo  after figuring out how to put the sites in english, Efteling and Madurodamlook pretty awesome, though i doubt my parents will go to either (not their “thing”… the exact reason i didn’t go with them and wait till i can go on my own).

I only saw this thread today. Hm, Pennsylvania is a bit far out. I don’t know of any cool unicycle related things that are strictly Dutch, if they must be portable as well. Maybe www.semcycle.nl have a little gadget…

Klaas Bil (cool? unicycle-related? strictly Dutch? anyway not portable)
