Insane Near Miss!!!

While I was in Calgory, over the last 5 days, we were going up and down this icy snowy road alot. So were are riding down that road from Panorama, and we were following this white ghetto car… then it started turning and sliding…we were like forty feet back but still there was no tracktion to stop on so we tried the braked but no good so we tried to go around…but there was a problem. a big blue truck was going up the other side of the road right as were trieing to go around. it wass going around a slight curve in the road so we couldent see it. but we dodged the truck and “ran him off the road”… so he went into the slight embankment on the side of the road…he sunk in and couldent get out. he was in stuck up to the door handles. but on a tilt… anyway. we all get out and we all decided it wasnt our fault so we didnt even exchange info to the other two people sinceit was the white cras fault… so since there was no actual collision with other vehicals we left. there was getting to be quite a back up since it is only a 2 lane road. so we are on our way…la de da…and we see sirens… and hear them. so we pull over. we didnt even think it was for us… we thought it was some emergency that we had no part of. but sure enough… he stops right behind us. so apparently the other guy had called the cops and said we left the scene of an accident without the cops… so he takes us back to the police station… and we told him our story. (the truth) and he let us go…so thats my story…haha. oh and when we got back to our room for the night… the same cop was right outside our condo taking care of another problem…not involved with us…

anyway… im back ha

So as you put it “ran a guy off the road,” decided it wasn’t your fault and just got up and left without even getting out of your car to talk to the other people? yeah I think I would put that as fleeing the scene too. glad to hear your safe though

The way I read it, they did talk to the other guy and he said that it wasn’t their fault.

oh yeah. didn’t quite catch “we get out” part before. That could mean different things though. that doesn’t necesarily mean they talked with the other drives but could have just inspected their car.

no we all inspected the cares and no one was hurt and no crars touched eachother. it was a mirical though because i didnt have a seatbelt on… and there had to have been inches to miss by.

mmm, reminds me of an old Tournament of Hearts (curling) commercial “Football players play for inches, I wish we had inches” now imagine cars sliding around missing other cars by inches instead of curling rocks missing by mms

Glad you missed being schmucked (and everyone else involved)

Sounds like you guys were way, way lucky. Accidents on ice are very strange, with everything happening in super slo-mo. You can see what’s going to happen way before it does, and often you can’t do anything about it but watch. When it’s really slippery even the best driving skills can’t make traction from nothing. Great that nobody was hurt.

So if you don’t mind my asking, what was the purpose of not wearing seat belts?

roflol seatbelts r 4 loosers!!1

When i read the title, i immediately thought of this.
