I recently submitted a 9 minute clip of Inner Balance to the Banff Film Festival (the version I have available for download)
Whle I didn’t make it as a finalist for the festival, it has made the short list of films on the World Tour!! (one step further than TWNR)
"Three days after the festival in Banff, we hit the road with about 25 of the best films. These are chosen to represent a diverse range of sports, styles, themes, and geographic locations. For each screening, about 5 to
8 films are chosen from this collection. You can get more info about tour locations and background at http://www.banffmountainfestivals.ca/tour/. "
I have to turn my 9 minute version into a 5 minute version in the next couple of days, but it’s going on the world tour!!
Wherever the tour goes, the local host (not localhost, computer nerds!) gets to select from the available selection (of which Inner Balance will be one) of movies to screen!
there have been lots of good things happening with this movie lately! it’s good to get the sports out there with a solid body of camera work and a diverse range of riding styles (other than the circus clown image stuck in the back of collective minds) out into the public to behold. unicycling, let alone a unicycling film of this calabre turns heads. people are truly amazed at our stereotype-smashing acheivements.
–it would’ve been fun to have been a part of this profject…we sure tried, but damn that rueful weather for prevailing!–
Nice work. The Banff Film Festival is one of the most competitive film festivals in the world for being accepted- hundreds are submitted for those few that make it. It’s about time they had another uni film!
Congratulations Brian! That’s great. Here in Calif, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is typically a sell-out and it shows in a number of cities around the Bay Area. It will be so awesome to see another unicycle film in it finally. Given the response to the previous ones, I am sure the Santa Cruz organizers at least will choose your film.
Congratulations. As you know I’m fan of both of your video’s. Also as Kris mentioned the Banff Festival is known world wide so this will be a great opportunity for you to share your work.
