Well, what kind of graphics card does he have currently? If it’s something like an 8800 or 9800 (or an ati of some sort) I wouldn’t see why he would need a new one, if it’s anything worse I could see why.
If its an 8800 or 9800 then thats a perfect reason to upgrade. If you dont have a 280 or above, youre nothing.

I voted. =p I have a hd 4870, and right now that plays all the old games and new games coming out perfectly, even Crysis all on high, so im not worried. Its hard to get any better unless I want to spend $500-$600, which I cant afford right now.
