IMPORTANT: Announcing the Unicon X Website

Greetings

I just returned from Beijing where I spent a few days with the hosts of Unicon
X, to be held in Beijing in the year 2000. Guess where — in the National
Olympic Sports Center, where the Asian Games were held! To make a long story
short, this trip was VERY successful. I have a prepared a website with lots of
pictures of the facilities and a report about the trip.

By all means, point your browser to:

http://browse arounwww.kanji.org/jack/Uniconx/trip.htm

and surf around. As you will see, some of our wildest dreams will come true,
including a unicycle event in Tiananmen Square and inexpensive air tickets and
accommodations.

So get ready and start saving now to ride your ‘dulunche’ in the most populous
land on the planet.

Re: IMPORTANT: Announcing the Unicon X Website

Steve,Jack:

Steve, about your question’where Jack get the" nice idea" HK unicyclists will go
to Beijing in January?" .I need Jack’s help to prove whether it is the same idea
when I chatted,not a serious talk,with Mr.Zhang Shu-xiao,the vice chairman of
CUA ,while I was in Beijing in August…

I told Mr.Zhang and his colleagues those HK kids who joined UNICON IX never have
experience in competition before they went to Germany.I said it will be great if
unicyclists from HK can join or do some training with the Chinese team. You all
knew how well-discipline and how fast they are.

Also,Mr.Zhang’s travel company is running different kinds of programme and
training. And the school I am teaching have planned to do some discipline and
exchange programme training for our students in China.Mr.Zhang is kindly enough
to say he can send me informations about both trainings and he can help to
arrange it.At first our school programme plan is only to run it in Canton
province where is only few hours train from HK.But since Beijing is the capital
of China,it will be great if our school programme can run in Beijing instead of
Canton province, and more,Mr.Zhang said his travel company can give us a fairly
good price for the air tickets. Why it is in January???It is because there will
be a long school holiday of ChineseLunar New Year.

What Mr.Zhang final suggestion is he can help to arrange different training
programmes for unicyclists and non-unicyclists,but first of all,he’ll send
informations to my school or USHK first.Of course,up till now,I haven’t got any?
How about you Stephen???

So Jack,if your information about HK unicylists will go to Beijing in January is
the same source as I have just mentioned. Then I think I have the responsibility
to clarify this misunderstanding…We have no plan to go there,at least up
till now, because I haven’t got any news and informations from them.Since they
never get in touch with me after I am back to HK even though they promised they
will do,I just don’t understand how can they ASSUME we are really coming and
told you about it.Excuse me for my rudeness,it just a joke.

About Asian Unicycle Championships,I have no idea where it comes out.I only know
that from Mr.Zhang in Beijing.

Jack, since this idea ( HK unicyclist will go to Beijing in January) is being
mentioned in your web-page.That’s why I put this on iufdiscuss and unicycling
winternet.

Best Regards, Melanie

Zhang Shuxiao and other CUA officials would veryt much like to do it.

They told me about this when I was in Beijing, and also suggested that w do
something like that for Japan. I told them January is too cold, but they
thought its ok…

I don’t they said it was definite, but did say they want to or are planning
toi do it.

They discussed this with me, and I mentioned to the JUA, and we havve vague
plans to hold it in July 1999 in Tokyo, as I wrote in a previous message today.
