Get a mac. no one will know im joking
Is your camera on playback mode?
If you have access to another computer, try plugging into that to see if there’s anything going wrong with the camera or cable. Beyond that I can’t help because I haven’t done much with video…
download another video package and (providing it works) get the video off your cam using that. then save the video and open it in imovie. (sorry if this was just stating the blatantly obvious)
What sort of cable are you using to connect?
What type of camera is it?
Elaborate a little…
Have you tried clicking the little camera icon and clicking your camera?
Wait, so is it your computer that isnt recognizing your camera plugging in?
Or does the computer recognize the camera, and the program isnt seeing it?
nothing is recognising anything.
it is a sony handycam.
well theres ya problem…its a mac.
If it was a windows machine, I would say to manually install the driver for the camera, but I don’t know enough about Macs to offer any help on driver/installation stuff.
It is a digital camera, right? Just checking the simplest things If it is a handycam, you’re using the firewire port, right?
well, I took it to the apple store, and it turns out my firewire is jacked up…
well, I was making space on my laptop, and uninstalled quicktime because I didn’t think I used it, so now imovie doesnt work.
I reinstalled it but it still says I’m missing stuff.
