Oh…I got it wrong. Well, I’m pro-abortionist too. I think everyone should get pregnant so that abortionists can make lots of money.
Actually, I’m not pro-abortion or pro-abortionist. I’m pro-life AND pro-choice.

You’re being attacked by deer!?!
I’ll be right there.
I haven’t watched MTV for a while. What does ‘mest’ mean?
Oh, and just so there no misunderstanding, I’m pro-mandatory-abortion.
Just fall pregnant to qualify.
That was absolutely excellent!
I’d love to hear the rest of that record.
Most of the songs are available as mp3s.
But do you really want to risk downloading pirated versions of this guy’s songs?
Someone at work came to me the other day and asked me to rip a pirate copy of a Gospel CD for them. Even after I politely declined and eventually guffawed in his face he still didn’t seem to ‘get’ what I thought was so funny…
I can’t find the link right now but a bit of the ole ultra-googling should see you right.
For anyone interested here’s the whole album:
Sorry to derail this most excellent thread, but…
MrBoogiejuice - You can the stuff???
Indeed I do, boogie is a vital yet often neglected part of our diet.
It’s available at most good health food stores.
Now that was even funnier than the song… Thanks for the laugh!
Bruce, I saw this T-shirt in my weekly Threadless.com newsletter and immediately thought of you.
I like it. A quicker way to field dress my “harvest”. I’ll have to find a sword in the next three weeks. Thanks, Dave.
I can actually just imagine you as a sword-wielding warrior.
Hey, 'dem deer are viscious creatures. Look the other way for an instant and they’ll take your head off. One can never be too careful.
I didn’t mean in hunting season, I meant like a couple of hundred years ago. Maybe a viking warior of sorts. Didn’t you say Edwards was a Welsh surname?
Hey, you’re right. I guess I can see myself as an ancient warrior. Got to provide for the family you know. It might be kind of fun to jump out of trees with a sword onto unsuspecting prey.
Hunting with swords sounds…interesting…I guess. What about bowhunting?
Hey Bruce. Been out hunting yet? We went out opening day, not so much for deer as elk. We saw a smallish bull, but he also saw us and took off running.
No, not yet. Firearm hunting in Illinois really stinks at times. Bow season opens October 1 and goes into January but I haven’t bowhunted since the boys were born and have since sold all my bow equipment. Firearm season consists of two long weekends, one three days and the other four. But the kicker is that we have to use shotgun and slug. Mucho farmland out here and things are too close for rifle shots. So our reach out and touch range is limited to about 100 yards or less.
We’ve got a couple treestands but I’ve found that the best spot is a ground blind along a farm field fenceline. Good thing about deer hunting here though is that a lot of record whitetails come out of Illinois. We also have a blackpowder season that coincides with firearm season plus a little and a handgun season after the first of the year. I don’t own handguns so I’m not up on the handgun regs but I think this year, a firearm hunter may carry a handgun as well.
I’ll be out for two days the first weekend but we have plans for the second weekend season this year, so this year’s hunting will be limited. Maybe we’ll have venison roast for Thanksgiving.
Little side tip about new puppies and hunting. Every few years, I stop by the butchers and pick up some deer antlers left over from their processing. Deer antlers make great dog chews and last almost forever. Plus they’re a good source of calcium and other stuff for the dogs. If I had a plentiful source, I’d market dog chew antlers.
Bruce the Fearless
beat cha to it, GILD!
I posted the same shirt a few posts back.
Threadless shirts are the best, but not many people know about them…good thing.
So you get them in S. Africa too? Cool.
I wish someone here watched WestWing on TV. Right now Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits are debating–both running for president of the USA–and are dealing with the abortion issue in it’s complexity–very interesting for TV politicians. It’s on network TV on Sunday night, I think, like 9 or 10 EST.
Very fast moving and very intelligent (for TV).
Billy
yoopers, what exactly does black powder season consist of? Do you just leave a little pile of it in the woods and stick a light to it when a deer’s standing over it? Also what’s the deffintion of 'reach out and touch range '? I’m not a hunter, it doesn’t really go on in this country (atleast not to the scale that it does in the US), I’m just curious.
Black powder refers to the old flintlock muzzle type of firearm but most of the black powder rifles are pretty modern these days. It’s a nostalgic way of hunting.
Reach out and touch range is just what I call the maximum distance that my projectile will travel within my vision and with any degree of accuracy. For a shotgun slug, it’s about 100 yards max. A scoped rifle can go much further of course. I was at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia once and some of the marines were practicing on a 1000 yard range. Quite impressive.
Hope that helps.
