if you have a strat, i’d say go for surf green, imo its the only good looking color on a strat.
by the way, did i mention i dislike strats? (minus Billy Joe’s blu)
yeah, i got myself a firebird, suits me well, it gives a mid range tone when you mess with the tone knobs lol. It’s pretter versitile, anyway, back from threadjack
it depends what the hardwares gonna look like also, for color wise.
thats actually a really big compromise in hardware and colors than what each color takes. Surf green would go pretty alright with white pickguard, knobs, and pickups. The fretboard would look good with pearl white in my opinion. An entire white and pearl guitar (minus fingerboard) would look pretty bad ass imo lol. Surf green would also look pretty BA, its all your choice in the end.
Oh, and just in my opinion, get a white pearl pickguard, that’d look really clean and expensive on the guitar.
and for clearcoat, i guess its your opinion, i have no idea on clearcoats. But, put on a bunch of coats so your paint wont start rubbing off. It’d only take a little while of playing to rub off the clearcoat and paint if you had like 1 coat on.
When i build my guitar, i’m going to put like 2 coats on, hardly anything, so the paint starts rubbing off easy. I’ve got a pretty gangster idea for a guitar.
If I’m not mistaken, Harold Crick, as played by Will Ferrell in the movie Stranger Than Fiction (not a bad flick in my opinion), purchases a Stratocaster that color green. I believe the explanation was that it “spoke to him”. He learns to play I’d Go the Whole Wide World on it. That’s a song that apparently uses only two chords, E and A. Maggie Gyllenhaal falls all over him when he plays it for her. They do it.
