Anyone find the plans for the unicycle to whom which i could just make it?
Im looking for the plans for the pictue that waslinked at this -http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39757&highlight=wooden+unicycle
and if someone can give lpans for it or for another unicycle liek that, im making it in my woodshop class in my spare time.
If you want to actually ride it I recommend using a very fat axle. All the wooden unicycles I’ve seen were made as art objects. Though they may have been functional, they would either wear out fast or break if you rode them. 100% Wood is not exactly the best material for making wheeled vehicles. At the very best, you’re going to have a heavy, wear-prone art object., so design accordingly!
instead of a solid wheel you could use dowel spokes and laminate some veneer in the shape of the rim. you could probably use your rim as the jig for it. as for the spokes id suggest not having more than 10-20. and for the seat you could get a block and bandsaw it to shape then file/rasp it round.
