Since my knee is messed up, I can’t excercise.
I’m on some medication that also seems to make me gain weight.
and I’ve got sugar cravings bad.
I’ve gained about 22 pounds in two months.
That’s crazy.
Any advice?

eat first, THEN roll it up, you won’t have the munchies so bad…
Smoke?
Yep.
Watch that you don’t catch the furniture disease like me.
You can either smoke some rocks or speed
Or do both
are they pain killers? you could just stop taking them. You’ll be paying too much attention to the searing pain to notice sugar.
My tried-and-true method?
Cut out anything liquid that has calories, except for milk. If you crave sweet stuff, eat fruit. Teach your body to like it. Diet soda for now as a substitute, then taper that stuff off too by switching to seltzer. Also, try “No white at Night.” It is the title of a diet book by some doctor but the basic idea is to cut out white flour and sugar after lunch so you don’t sleep with a belly full of the stuff.
Finally, get up in the morning and force yourself to eat something for breakfast.
Sorry. I haven’t given out any rep in this thread.
All good stuff. I’ve always liked the idea of replacing the taste of sweet for the taste of fruit. It requires some effort but can be done. I’m going to give it another go. Thanks for the encouragement. Also, I’ve not heard of the “no white at night” idea. That might be a ticket as well.

Now I have.
Thanks for the rep, yoopers-
Yeah, I got a copy of “No White at Night” for a friend in publishing, but the whole book is basically padding and recipes based around the idea expressed in the title!
Ok, I’ll bite, what’s furniture disease?
Is it anything like Dunlop’s Syndrome?
Similar. Furniture disease is when your chest drops into your drawers.
sit ups ? u dont need ur legs for that …
Hey there.
I’m tied to home because of a kid and I have an underactive thyroid so I have a super slow metabolism. Somehow I manage to keep my weight within the normal range long-term. Here are some ideas that I use.
As suggested sit ups, and other exercises that do not strain knees. Chin-ups, do you have a weight bench?
Swimming is good and easy on the knees, Not certain where you are, but if there is pool that you have access to, that is great exercise.
With the diet, cutting out refined sugars is key, I do the fruit and seltzer thing. Also go for popcorn with salt no-butter and pretzels instead of cheetohs and chips. Most good-wills have cheap used air-pop popcorn poppers. Avoid things like burgers and greasy tacos, and make your own meat dishes with lean cuts. Learn to make a salad you like and will eat.
Cut out one food that you normally eat a lot of or restrict it to one meal/week. Mine is pizza. I can eat a ton of za if it is in front of me. Now Friday nights are pizza nights and no pizza allowed other nights or lunches or breakfasts…
Find a few veggies that you enjoy and eat lots of them before anything else. Sounds strange, but I have always liked shredded red cabbage with lawrey’s seasoned salt (the orange capped seasoned salt). Any how, find something that’s almost 0 calories thats good for you and eat a ton of that when you just want to stuff your face.
Sugar free jello is actually pretty good tasting, too. There are a host of different diets to choose from. I guess what’s important is that you get the basic nutrition your body needs and like it enough to stick to it.
Well good luck. Don’t let it get out of controll. It’s easier on than off for certain!!
Podzol
