If I order a Velo Seat

I was very interested in getting a Velo seat. I am just a little concerned. If I was to order it, Is there a chance that my seat post might be a different size than what this seat requires. I do have a Schwinn style seat post that is probably 200mm. I am catious because I usually dont order things from the internet. Almost any information will be helpful here. Thanx

Re: If I order a Velo Seat

The new Kris Holm Velo seat will fit Schwinn, Torker, Semcycle and Bedford
seat posts. It has the same bolt spacing as Viscount seats. There are a
number of other unicycles using that post spacing as well.

The only seat post it won’t fit is Miyata. Miyata uses a larger top flange
and bolt spacing than all others.

Hope this helps,

Darren

Re: Re: If I order a Velo Seat

The Velo seat also won’t fit on the seatpost used on the DM Ringmaster Advanced. The DM saddle uses it’s own unique bolt pattern.

Re: Re: If I order a Velo Seat

You are my hero! I’ve been looking for a quality 25.0 to 22.2 shim. Unicycle.com USA only has this thing
<http://www.unicycle.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=252>
Yuck! 25.4 to 22.2 shims are available but I have yet to find (before now) a good 25.0 to 22.2 shim.

I’m going to make John Drummond get me one so I can easily use a standard 22.2 seatpost on my Ringmaster Advanced.

unicycle.uk.com has better oddball spares than unicycle.com

Re: Re: Re: If I order a Velo Seat

Daft answer 1
That’s because we’re a country of oddballs, why do you think all the guys walk funny?:stuck_out_tongue:

Daft answer 2
With the painful Viscount saddle, you’re bound to need the odd ball replaced at one time or another.

:o I apologise profusely for any nonsense postings I make today, it’s last day of “work” before the Christmas holidays and the entire office has gone a bit loopy (those who aren’t hungover from last night’s party).

Have fun!

Graeme

You could also use the GB 400mm Universal Seat Post, if I am not mistaken that is.

Thanx

Thanks a lot everyone. I will probably order one of those longed seats. But I do have a seat post that fits a united seat, which I ride with now. So I better get one before they’re sold out.

I think you are, there is no room under the seat to fit the extra space the miyata style plate. it would only work with some creative grinding.

Re: Re: Re: If I order a Velo Seat

For accuracy I need to mention that unicycle.com does indeed have a 25.0 to 22.2 shim. They just call it a “sizer”. I was searching the catalog using the word “shim” and the “sizer” didn’t generate a hit with that search. “sizer” is too non-technical for me.
