Ideas about making heart juggling balls?

In the grocery store recently, I noticed pig hearts were on sale, pretty cheap. Pig hearts are just about the perfect size for juggling, and they look really cool in a kinda creepy way.
I’m a big juggler, and I know a girl who’s really into juggling, and I thought it would be cool to give her a heart set for Valentine’s day.

I was thinking if I could completely dry them out (Salt, heat? Other ideas?) and then coat them with something clear (Epoxy, maybe?) They’d last a long time without going rotten, and be pretty durable.
I’m just not sure how to do it.
Any of you have any suggestions?

bahahahaha! I have no idea how to make the heart last longer, without rotting, for a long time for juggling.

But I think it’s f’ing hilarious that you want to do it!

I can juggle 3 modestly.

in science we dissected cow hearts, and I REALLY REALLY wanted to try juggling a few, but my teacher wouldn’t let me…I was really quite disappointed.

anyway, I have no idea how you’d preserve hearts. I’m sure there must be a way though…good luck, and post pictures and stuff if you figure it out!!

I have to say that I think giving a girl you like a set of three dried-up, salt-encrusted, resin-coated pig hearts for Valentine’s Day is a Really Bad Idea.

^
And that’s not a good RBI, like in baseball.

that would make a good sigline.
depends on the girl though…if she has a good sense of humor, it could be an EXCELLENT present!! I for one would love to get three pig hearts for valentines day. but I’m not a girl.

soak them in isopropyle alcohol for a little bit (this will degrade them just a bit) and then vacume seal them in a durable bag using one of those sandwich vacumes or something. The alchy will preserve them for awhile and the vacume, if durable (maybe do it 2 or 3 times) should keep 'em together.

If you really want to make pig heart juggling balls, plastination is probably the only way to get a really good result.

The really romantic approach, would be to send her fresh hearts every other day or so, depending on the temerature.

I was gonna suggest plastination too, that’s what that crazy german dude does to dead bodies before he slices them up.

But I have to agree with Borges, send her fresh hearts every other day or even every day if you get a good supplier. That’ll really freak her out.

T.

Plastination was my first idea, but it’s a little expensive.
I saw the corpse exhibition when I was in London. Very cool stuff.

Formaldehyde. Just make sure she washes her hands after juggling them.

I’ve juggled three dad rats a few times… it’s fun!

I’m a girl and think TomBlackwood makes a very good point.

take them to a taxidermist?
they should know.
go look up “Taxidermist” on google. then email or call one of them and ask.
or you could take them and put them in a plastic ball somehow…

although i partly agree with Mr. Tom here, if you did this wrong, this could turn into a REALLY Bad Idea. And i mean REALLY. Presentation counts. big time.

EDIT: Oh, and also, DON’t mail them, please. That’d just be creepy getting three pig hearts in the mail with a valentine note. Just creepy.
Deliver them in person. Makes a good impression.

sick.

that would be fun…I’ve always thought juggling hamsters would be the best though. live ones of course.

My mom wont let me juggle our cats. We have the right number too. (3…)

Skippii, you are one crazy mofo. In a good way though.

I actually thought it was a good idea… The whole heart for valentine’s day thing… Am I the only one?

Your going to lose all the effect if you dry them out. Surely one of the attractions to juggling hearts would be the blood dripping down your arms and splattering all over the place.
