I wonder how you would be able to play games like pokemon. Mario and Zelda i get, but not pokemon unless it’s like pokemon stadium.
Those are dying out. There only so many things Ash can catch (and even fewer that can be put into a game for kids), there only so many ways Link can save the world, and Mario will run out of a reason to party eventually. What Nintendo needs is to make another game/series that will come out as a huge classic. They can’t ride on their old success forever.
For Pokemon, I believe the controller would be flung into your tv so you won’t get to see those damned critters. hahahaha!
What’re you talking about? Pokemon IS new. Sort of. Mario’s been around since 1980 or thereabouts. But Mario isn’t old yet and still sells lots of good quality games. Apart from the platformers we’re familiar with, there’s Mario and Luigi Partners in Time (an RPG), Yoshi’s Island DS and Super Princess Peach (both spinoffs), MarioKart (racer) and even for platformers, they’ve improved the formulae and made Paper Mario, Super Mario Sunshine, etc.
The way i see it is for almost every console must have a main character like…
Sonic is for sega
Mario is for nintendo
Crash bandicoot is for PS (in a way)
In any case, they’re not always sticking to the same routine like fluxusmaximus said. They’re always trying new things which is a good thing in my books. 
I just don’t think that their old consoles will save them for much longer. They need to come up with better ideas.
Unicycling > Games consoles
Wii’s are the best (if you have too). I personally would rather keep the money and spend it on anything else except for a game box.

my Wii that i camped out for ended up defective and had to take it back, i did get like 30 somthing hours into the new Zelda…the controls were not tight enough, waving my arms around to make my sword move was lame after about 5 hours.
when i returned the Wii, I exchanged it for an Xbox 360.
Wii is going to get so many lawsuits filed against them by angry mothers who’s children now all haveR.S.I

But the Wii, unlike Playstation, has one waving a white piece of plastic around in the air most of the time, using ones wrist.

the wii is better by far, its just so much more fun.
i’ve got the same deal as dale.
wii and 360.
360 is good for say…halo and gears of war.
wii is good for more group entertainment and enjoyment.
