i ride cause
not many do it
it’s different
it’s challenging
i get lots of hot girls to come up to me(SWEET! )
u can do way more w a uni
people always want to try it and i get 2 watch them fall off(you’d be amazed wat the do, say, and ask me)
its smaller than a bike, so i can keep it in my garage so it won’t rust
and most of all IT’S FUN AND DANGEROUS, JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT!!!
Unicycling is okay. I’m not as enthusiastic as I once was. I ride once in a while. It’s fun, but I don’t live for it.
I never forget, however, that it has changed my life. I have made many dear friends because of unicycling. I’ve gone places and attended events and met people and had wonderful experiences because of unicycling. I’ve had many pleasant conversations with random people I encounter. It is a uniquely social sport or hobby. None of my other hobbies – past or present – have come close to the social nature of unicycling. Being an unusual and small sport with a high barrier of entry, unicycling fosters a strong sense of kinship with other unicyclists.
I sometimes wonder if other hobbies/sports can do the same. I bought a canoe earlier this year. I love to paddle in lakes. It brings me to beautiful and serene places. It’s a great upper-body workout. I’ve gotten stronger as a result. And if I weren’t already a unicyclist, I would be saying that canoeists and kayakers are the nicest people! If I were to join a canoe/kayak club or two, I would go places, make new friends, attend events, and have wonderful experiences. But somehow, I don’t think it would be the same as unicycling. It wouldn’t have the same impact on me. I would have less of a bond with the people I meet. The whole experience would be less special. Why is that? Why is unicycling so special?
its always a challenge and you can do new stuff until you are completely winded. then you can still enjoy it as you watch other people try it. (The best are the drunks that congregate at one restaurant at 3am) That and the joy of watching a whole field of 6 year olds run off the field in their soccer game to follow you while the coaches try to herd them back into the game.
