Day one:
Who knew that giraffe riding would be so exciting…
Now, having finally attained a giraffe unicycle, I find myself with a great deal of respect for those people who can actually get on the damn thing without falling on their butts! After only two goes at riding, I tried to free mount only to end up face up on the ground. Didn’t think free mounting a giraffe would be so hard!
Anyway, the only uni-related thing I got was the giraffe… no movies or gear or anything. Either way I’m pretty glad I own a giraffe. It’s quite an experience and relatively easy to ride, it’s just the getting on that’s the trick.
Day two:
I’ve finally managed to mount the giraffe without clinging onto the gutters of my house so all I need it a high enough ledge to get my crotch in the saddle. I’m not quite sure that the united saddle would be good enough to attempt a free mount just yet. I’m quite comfortable now with riding it and can take some time enjoying the height without focusing on the wheel or my feet.
I’m almost ready to begin the “Great Giraffe Project” but I’m waiting till I get back to school to order stuff and plan a paint job. Perhaps I’ll order a uni-movie with all that stuff since Santa skipped that part of my list.
I’ve began to notice a slight scraping sound about my hub. I think the protrusion on the hub is scraping against the chainwheel. If that is so, then I hope it won’t develop into a big problem, and regular lubrication will keep it rotating smoothly and quietly (though that would be quite annoying).
Well it’s time to set down the giraffe for now… I’m taking a train up to Milwaukee, WI for a three day holiday with my aunt.
