I passed my G2 test today. Im so happy, its the best feeling ever!
I drive too!
Cool, Iâm taking the driving test tommorow to get mine, too.
Whatâs a G2 test though?
Canadian lingo for driving test probably i would assume G1 is written G2 is practical.
but im a stupid american:p
congrats be able to drive!
Cool! Good Luck!
In canada you do a written test when youâre 16 to get your g1, which lets you drive with a fully licensed driver. Then after 8 months(if you take drivers ed) you can do road test for your g2 and then you can drive around by yourself with a few restrictions, then you do a road test for your G which has no restrictions.
Fixed for ya
Different provinces have different rules.
In SK you get your learners (class 7) at 15, full license (class 5) once you are 16. I Got a class 3 so I could drive the buss for a summer camp I worked at.
Good job on passing your test!
Oh I see.
Here, you can take the written test when youâre 15 (sometimes 16, itâs different all over the place) to get what we call your learnerâs permit. Which is the same as your G1.
Then at least where I live, you can take the drivers test at 16 to get your full license. A lot of states have all kinds of different restrictions though, pretty much the same as you described.
Iâve had my learners permit for almost 2 years now, by choice. Iâve been driving enough that the driving test should be easy enough. I hope.
gah!
I really donât like humanity in generalâŚdonât want to be a hater but its trueâŚ
why are you happy to have more liabilitys and costs anyways?
Being able to drive will be worth it.
in michigan you can take segment 1 of drivers ed, thats written and practical, you go to a 3 hour class every day for 3 weeks, then you get your permit and can drive with a parent. After you have had your permit for 6 months AND if your over 16 you can take segment 2, which is just 3 days of 3 hours of class. Once you pass segment 2 you can take your road test and get a license!!!
Det-roitâs description tells me things have changed quite a bit in Michigan since I got my license. Generally it goes by state (or province), though there can be some local differences, especially in the road test. The road test generally matches the type of driving in that area. At least if itâs done on real roads.
If youâre getting ready for your test, the most important thing to do is drive relaxed and naturally, and make sure youâre aware of everything around you. One of the easiest things to fail for is not looking, especially when you back up. If you donât make your tester nervous, youâre more than halfway there.
yep, we got new laws making the âroads saferâ.
for our road tests now you have to do parking, and cant get more than 3 demerits or you fail then you have a 20 min drive in which you need less than 6 demerits to pass
Yup, the examiner told me that the only thing I did wrong was not look down rail rodes when I crossed them.
i took 3 tests total and drove for four hours total in the process of getting my permit and my license. The first tested m out of the class. then the road hours with a road instructor (was supposed to be more but he knew I could drive and was cool) then a short test to get my permit. In North Carolina you get your permit (with a parent) at 15 and then when I was 16 i took a little quiz and drove for like 2 minutes and got my license. I was surprised how little I ever had to do to get it. I guess it helped that I was already a confident driver.
Congrats on passing Matt. So what is the system like there???
Iâd be willing to argue that there are many other âbest feelingsââŚbut itâs still a good one. Have fun, be aware.
No offence, but you might wana read the thread before posting??
They grow up so fast.
Looking forward to the âI can buy Beer!!!â thread in a few years.
Congrats.
I kinda failed the driving test today.
When I parallel parked, my rear tire went up on the curb a little, which apparently is an automatic disqualification.
The rest of the test was incredibly basic. Just drove around town and made a couple turns, drove around the block a few times. Then the parallel parking. If it werenât for that curb part I would have been fine.
Oh well. Iâll just take it again next week, and then Iâll know what to expect. I had no idea what it would be like, I thought it would be a lot more complicated. I guess thatâs because this is a small town (very small town).
Wow that sucks when i took it in New Mexico all we had to do was drive around for like 10 minutes and then park back at the dmv no parellel parking.
my tester was kind of crazy though see said that you should always come to a complete stop at yield sign and that she should fail me for that. I mean thats the purpose its a yield and not a stop sign!
good luck with the parking:)
