I found another addictive hobby!

I’ve been walking for 3 days!
One of my friend is totally mad and a great walker. A few years ago he decided to walk around brittany’s coast… as close from the sea as possible.
Last year I decided to walk with him, I had planned a 3 days week-end and we walked from friday 3 PM to Sunday 10 AM (with lunch breaks and 2 nights under the tiny tent… wonderfulll!). The coast was really great and though we walked about 50 km we were only about 15-20 km from our starting spot.
This Year we started walking on friday at 12 AM and we walked to the exact spot where we had left the beach last time and continued the tour.
departure from plouhinecto the rock on the south of this photo, and then it was: “keep the ocean on our left side”. We stoped walking yesterday at 6 PM at the marina in Larmor plage. you can scroll and/or zoom the picture (google earth style), yes plouhinec is on the left of this picture :sunglasses:
I just can’t feel my feet any more but that was sooooo great.
Walking is great, I hope we’ll find some time before the summer (and its tourists flow) to cross the next river and enter a new “département”: “le Finistère”.

i do a bit of street walking sometimes.

Have you ever heard of Peace Pilgrim?
She walked across the United States, for 28 years straight…

I walk just a half mile each day to work and back but would rather be riding my unicycle. I guess I am not as patient.

didja just get out of a wheelchair or something? i HATE walking, i wish i had a floating skateboard lke on back to the future

I walk to the bathroom sometimes when my bucket gets full.

How abouit Forrest Gump??

I ride my Unicycle to school… and walk down the halls, if I wouldn’t get in trouble I would ride it in the halls.

But yeah, I love walking…I love running more, but generally can’t do it as far, even though I’ve certainly run further than I’ve ever walked, that’s only because I don’t go walking to see how far I can walk the way I do running. Sometime I’m gonna run across the country, just like Forrest Gump…

Every morning I wake up at 4:00, and if I don’t immediately want to kill myself, I like to go walking too. I have to agree; it’s really relaxing and good exercise. In my neighborhood, I do it while listening to my iPod, but if I decide to go somewhere, I like to listen while I walk/jog.

Gotta say, the best place to walk is the mountains, but those aren’t exactly accessible where I live, so I settle for a 2 week trip once a summer.

im waiting for habby to chime in here

Actually what I enjoy the most is the idea of living for 3 days with everything you need in your backpack, sharing time with my friend, watching beautifull landscapes, take my shoes out after 8 walking hours (ahhhhh!). I’m not a walker, I ride to and from my working place and prefer riding than walking in my everyday life.
I’d like to do the same kind of trip unicycling but my friend doesn’t ride (yet).
Walking and riding are two different things. The first time I went trekking with my friend I remember that I often thought “I wish I had my KH 24”… This time I fully enjoyed walking and didn’t think about my uni at all.

Well eating dandelions can make you urinate more.

Coincidence???

my grandfather started to walk 5 km per day . He become a walker at the 60 years old.
today he got 94 and i really dont know where he is

My father-in-law started walking 5 miles a day when he retired at 60. He kept a daily logbook. When he turned 75, he had logged 25,000 miles, enough to walk around the world at the equator.

He passed away a week before Christmas at the age of 86.
