I dont think I will be unicycling for a while...

Well. I was out riding today and my rim bent. Also, my alxe is [already was] bent. My rim didnt just bend a little bit, it got bent so far that it rubs on the inside of the frame and gets stuck. Right now my tire looks about exactly like the lock ness monster. Also I am very broke right now, so it looks like im out of luck.

That sucks dude. Hope you get it fixed soon…

Rim bent could just be broken spoke or 2… have a look and check each spoke, you may just need to replace a few - not too costly;)

get a job

Sorry to hear that man. Lol, you’ll get back up and on your unicycle eventually.

I have to get caught up on my school so I can get a work permit, and I am planning on getting caught up this week. Especially since i have somthing to motivate me now.

A job at age 14?
Blasphemy!

Bring the unicycle into the bike shop and try to coerce the people there into fixing it for free…Tell them how good you are at riding it and how you bent it going off a ‘huge’ drop…

If I were a bike shop owner I would fix a nice little kid’s unicycle rim for free, just because, working at a bike shop, you don’t see all too many unicycles/unicyclists.

man, that’s sucks bad. i’m sorry.

dont u have to b 15 to work

Where i live the age requirement is 14 years of age.

EDIT: But it is hard to get a job unless you apply where someome either knows you, refers you, or if you apply at a small family owned buisness.

If this is an option for you, take it. I worked at a small family-owned place for almost 3 years before it closed down (I also started at 14), and it was a great experience. Relatively easy jobs, valuable work experience with an easy application, decent pay, and terrific co-workers. Obviously, it’s not like that everywhere, but if you work for just a year or two with the same people every single day you go in, it can get to be more than a job - it can be another family. And if you’re anything like me, when you’re ready to move on to a better-paying job, the owner of the family-owned place be an excellent reference.

Thats what I figured it would be like to work at a family owned buisness. I was also actually hoping and wanting to own a small buisness in the future. Im still deciding on what I want to do in college though, im thinking maybe becoming an insurance agent.

fill out your story a bit

What kind of uni was it ? If it’s just the rim, you should do ok with a rim and spokes. When you lace up the rim, put all the nipples on 1/2 turn, then go around the rim and tighten each one one half turn (exactly ) at a time until they all sound the same when you tap them. I have done several motorcycle rims this way. All the spokes are the same, so if you install them all the same, the rim will tighten up perfectly round, no fuss. You are only looking at 20 $ for a rim, plus some spokes, and shipping. So stop crying !

i’ve got the same problem, I hope I get a new rim for BD.
Edit: try washing cars for cash

The axle

Rereading, I see I forgot you have axle grief. Your call if the uni is worth fixing.
UDC has new hub assemblies that start at 30 $. Measure carefully to see if you can buy something that will fit.
It is possible you have a craptastic that may not have standard parts available.

Feel the light, why would I buy a 20 dollar piece of crap rim and hub if the same thing is going to happen in a month. Its a waste of money and a waste of time.

I’ve been to about 6 different bike shops for trueing, torque wrenching, stuff like that and for that stuff I have paid $0:) It does work, especially when they ask you to do tricks and stuff and they get impressed.
