I am ordering more Unicyclist.com t-shirts - What colors?

I’ve run out of Unicyclist.com T-shirts and am going to be putting in a new order to be printed up and I’d appreciate your input on colors you’d like them to be in. My first batch from last summer was just in Black and White t-shirts, but this time I want to get a larger variety of colors.

So, here are the options of the colors I can get printed:

  • Natural
  • White
  • Ash
  • Athletic Heather
  • Banana
  • Cornflower
  • Khaki
  • Kiwi
  • Orange Poppy
  • Stone
  • Black
  • Burgundy
  • Denim
  • Forest
  • Gold
  • Navy
  • Orange
  • Pacific Blue
  • Purple
  • Red
  • Royal Blue

To get an idea of what these colors are, you can go to http://www.fruitactivewear.com/catalog/detail.cfm?ID=1&range_no=3930R however, the colors vary on the computer screen from what they actually are.

I am putting in my order tomorrow morning (Thursday), so please let me know today what colors you think would be best. If you want a special color, please let me know and I can order a single one of that color for you, but i need to know today.

Thanks.

Athletic Heather is a nice color.

abt a wk too late…i would’ve ordered a blue one if they ahd been in abt a wk ago, but i already got a white one

I like all of these combos…one is enough
Royal blue shirt/orange lettering
Royal blue shirt/banana lettering
Forest shirt/banana lettering
Purple shirt/white lettering

On another note, have you considered making a unicyclist.com baseball cap? There is a severe shortage of unicycling hats on the market.

Ben

I was thinking of possibly getting some unicyclist.com winter hats made. But the baseball cap sounds like a good idea too. My wholesaler that I get the blank T-shirts through also has some baseball caps, so I’ll order a couple and play around with it and get something embroidered on it.

They carry the brand called Toppers. Specifically, they have these models:

  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=212&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=213&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=217&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=206&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=207&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=205&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=220&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=232&lastcatid=32&step=4
  • http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=227&lastcatid=32&step=4

I know very little about hats, so if anyone does and has a preference to the model. Please let me know.

That came out mutilated… anyways, I changed the script to no longer
use the “autoformat” function when sending the posts out to the
newsgroups. Will prevent wierd stuff like the urls below, but it also
will not wrap the regular text to a new line, so i hope that’s not a
problem for anyones email/news client.

Pacific Blue sounds good.

Had a look for beanies and found http://toppersdistributor.com/merchant.ihtml?pid=288&lastcatid=32&step=4. They look pretty good and the 2 alternatives (an all black version and something that looks like you could use it as a sleeping bag) ain’t quite as good IMHO.

Me likes. Me would buy

Cheers,
Neil

I’ll second that!

I’ll dig out some old skating zines (Skate Muties from the 5th Dimension) I
have buried somewhere - they had some real cool stickers that could be
ripped off / provide some inspiration.

I want a sticker for my unicycle like this one with wheel substituted for
speed:-

One f**cking wheel (don’t look if you don’t like rude words)

Lots of people have them on their singlespeeds (bikes with one gear).

Hi Gilby,

I’m a hat wearer - especially while riding as it keeps my hair out of the
way. Baseball caps or okay but I far prefer beanies given that, if you have
large amounts of hair, they don’t fit while beanies stretch to fit. They are
also warmer and don’t blow off in the wind  The multicoloured
unicycle.com logo would look real good on one me thinks. I’ll try having a
look round the web site you mention when I’m at work and see what they have.

Cheers,
Neil

Gilby,

It does seem to create problems with some messages. A couple of the
messages I’ve read in my news reader have had lines that are two or
three screen widths long, others aren’t quite so bad but are still
affected (it depends on when the author hits return). Only my personal
point of view, but I’d much rather have to spend a few seconds cutting
and pasting sections of a link every so often rather than have to
scroll sideways to read people’s messages. If I had to guess, I’d say
that messages with wrapped links that I’d like to follow accounts for
about 5% (absolute max.) of the traffic on this list/newsgroup, and
“side scrolling” messages since you turned off auto-format accounts
for about 30-40%.

Perhaps some readers aren’t familiar with cutting and pasting links.
Take the example below:

In this case you’d highlight the text from the “h” to the “d” (missing
out the “-” at the end of the line and copy it (either by typing
“Ctrl-C” or by right clicking and selecting copy). Then paste this
into the address bar either by typing “Ctrl-V” or right clicking and
selecting paste. Now copy the next section from “=” to “4” and paste
it into the address bar after the previous section, making sure you
don’t leave any spaces. The hit Return or click “Go” These
instructions are based on Windows and I.E. (and the instructions take
much longer to read than they take to do!).

Sorry if anyone feels insulted by me broadcasting fairly simple
instructions, but remember we were all newbies to computers once.

Have fun!

Graeme

Thanks for the feedback on shirt colors everyone!

I ordered these shirt colors:
royal blue, navy, red, pacific blue, gold, and athletic heather.

As for ink colors… I’ll decide that tomorrow when I bring the design and shirts to the screenprinters. Any ideas on that would be helpful. Here’s what I am thinking right now for each shirt color:
Royal Blue: Some white ink and some yellow.
Navy: white ink.
Red: yellow or white ink.
Pacific Blue: white, black, tan? or something else ?(I haven’t really seen this shirt color before in person).
Gold: black ink.
Athletic Heather: white or blue ink.

Thanks again.

I think I’m going to want an XL of each color. I’m a real fashion hound.

Unfortunately my wholesale distributer does not carry hats other than the caps I posted the URLs for, so I was unable to throw in that kind of hat with my order. I did order 2 different models of the caps though and I’ll play around with getting embroidery on those (my aunt has an embroidery machine, so it’s easier to play around with for small numbers verses when I make t-shirts I need to order many dozens of them).

I’ll look around to find another place that carries the hats you mentioned.

I must qualify that. The lines are much longer than they used to be,
but they do wrap so I don’t have to scroll sideways.
