Hunters/ Fisherman/ Outdoors Man Discussion Thread.

. Anybody else on here who likes to kick back down at the fishing whole or go for a hunt?
. I, myself, love to fish, I find it quite relaxing and to be a good time in good company. If your good, unlike us, you might catch dinner! Though we do go out to eat what we catch, most of the time we just make them late. We mostly go for yellow perch, catfish and walleye.
. Hunting is also fun, rifle season just started up here. Though I do enjoy it, I think something like bow would be more fun, well not quite fun, but more enjoyable as it is takes more skill. So far I’ve really only gone out for white tailed deer, but plan to try other types eventually.
. Camping or the like? I’ve learned to like it and I’ll probably be doing alot of it when I take my cross country trip. Looking forward to sleeping under the stars.

Just thought I would give a holler to all the other Sportsman. Though I don’t quite agree with that, it seems to mostly amount to bullshitting with friends. Anybody have pictures of a fish or something, we all know how they seem to grow and grow as the clock tic’s, ha.

a thread i can get into.

notice the homemade ghillie suit:

Oh dear! I don’t think I am allowed in this thread, But if I was not persona non grata, I would have told you about the grayling I caught today.:stuck_out_tongue:

My other favorite sport, besides uni’ing, is archery. I mostly just shoot at targets, but I’ve gone hunting a couple times for small game.

I think I fit the description

Sportswomen too?
or only sportsmen?

Possibly “Sports Persons” would work

I do a bit of shooting with my air rifle, but only target shooting at the moment. I will probably go and get some rabbits once we get my dads scoped air rifle back.
I’ll definitely be getting a shotgun licence when I’m 18 too, but it will again be for target shooting (clay pigeon shooting) and maybe go for a little hunt too. Can’t wait to get a pump action shotgun!
Camping too, I love camping!

I like to think as myself as an outdoors kind of person.
This summer me and my brother kayaked all of lake george, ny.
In fact either this weekend or the next I will be doing some tent camping in warrensburg ny. It is going to be freezing cold, but a lot of fun!!!

anybody here play paintball?

If you are getting a gun for sporting clays or skeet (or trap or whatever other clay pigeon shooting) you should look into getting either a double barrel or a semi-auto.

It is nice not having to go shucky-shucky when faced with doubles.

removable/interchangeable chokes are also really nice if you want to use it for hunting as well. You can’t shoot ducks with a skeet choke (at least not very well) and skeet with an improved modified choke takes a bit more skill.

Shooting a 12gauge just makes me feel like a badass kind of. I would like one, but as said above I think a semi would be better.

yes, sportswomen are included…

This video basically explains me. (:

on most of that…
i was shooting dove side by side w/ my cousin, he was using a semi auto(mid price point for an average joe), me my 12 guage pump (870 express)… we decided to see how much faster the semi auto shot … so we did a little competition … and i won. apparently there is a delay in the mechanism for most semi autos, that said, they are good if you don’t want a sore left arm (are lazy)

Shooting skeet with a full choke’s really fun… not. I forgot to change my chokes one day and wondered why I wasn’t hitting anything lol

I shoot .22 and trap competitively, and have won a few state competitions in both  This last fall I bought myself a brand new over/under and I’ve only used it a few times :frowning: Oh well, I’ll change that soon I hope lol.

On the other side of outdoorsmanship, I absolutely LOVE camping, backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, and of course, MUni. This summer I’m planning on going on a 3 week long backpacking trip. I’m definitely excited for it :D:D
