HUG Hill End to Bathurst Charity Ride Done!

We did it!Hills Unicycle Group completed our 45km charity ride on our 24KH unis on the 12th,13th and 14th of July 2008.The initial idea for the ride arose out of Kris Holm’s Evolution of Balance Award. We put in an application and decided to do the ride as a fundraiser for the childrens Starlight Foundation. To date we have raised over $2300.00.
The ride itself was an awsome experience that I will never forget. The Bridle Track from Hill end to Bathurst is a renowned 4wd track, but although well known to 4wders is a well kept secret amongst the rest of the population. The track is steep, winding and rocky and the best parts of it we had so much fun riding we forgot to take photos!
We got really good publicity in the local paper before and after the ride getting page 1 and page 3 coverage on both occasions. Here are links to a section of the articles:

I can highly recommend The Bridle Track as a great muni trip to do.Theres so much to say about the track and our experiences that we are planning to submit an article to the uni mag.To give you an idea here are a couple of photos from the trip. They really dont capture the terrain well , so hard to capture the unending corrogations, dust, rocks, ruts and mud; but it gives you an idea.If you’d really like to know what its like then come and do the ride yourself, I promise you that you wont be dissapointed.
