how to tell left from right side of hub

Hello,
I’m assembling a unicycle and the cranks have a little L and R on them so I know which is which. However, the hub does not so I don’t know which side to install each crank. Does it matter? If so, how do I tell?
thanks,

it does not matter

the cranks are labeled because if you ride with the right crank on the left side (of your uni as you ride), the pedal will undo itself and fall off…or the crank might as well

However, if you’ve already mounted your tire, and if it’s a directional tire like the Duro or Gazz (indicated by a small arrow along the sidewall), then mount the cranks appropriately for which way the tire’s supposed to roll.
