How to pick a unicycle?

Sounds to me like you were just suckered into buying a bicycle…

There actually is such a thing as a multi-wheel unicycle. Check out a few
unicycle web sites and you are sure to find a picture of one.

The wheels are arranged vertically with each wheel driving the wheel below
it. Therefore a three wheel unicycle (sounds like an oxymoron really) goes
backwards when you peddle forward and vice-versa.

Not at all. A three wheeler works like an ordinary giraffe as any multi wheelers
with an odd number of wheels do. If you want to get a multi wheeler going
forward when pedalling backward and vise versa you have to take an even number
of wheels.

Yeah? Well… I’ve ridden… erm… oh… OK, I guess that can’t be beat :o)

Was there A LOT of effort needed to turn the wheels? When I tried a 3 wheeler it
was pretty difficult.

Cheers,
