im aware of the log out button but when i press it it logs me back in when it refreshes it logs me back in
Not answering your question I know but I too have a problem. The machine on which I am now typing automatically logs me in and does not log me out of U.C. unless I tell it to. Other PCs that I use require that I log in every time I wish to post, and automatically log me out after a few minutes, even if I continue reading. Where is this controlled, how to change it? Hitting the remember me button has no effect.

That’s weird, try clearing all your cookies in your web browser. You should be able to find this somewhere in your preferences.
Hmmm… sounds like the date on that computer is set to a time in the past, therefore the time to log you out (15 minutes) is a much longer period.
Time/date is correct, and I am not worried about the PC that remains logged in, but I am concerned about the PCs that do log me out! After typing a post I find that, if it has taken me more than a few minutes to type it, then, as soon as I submit it, the application moans that I am not ( or am no longer) logged in. Logging in at this invite does not seem to work properly, it does not enable me to submit the post and I end up copying it, reloading the website, logging in, finding the relevant thread, and then pasting in my post. This gives me enough time to submit it, but the nuisance factor is high.

I don’t know the exact answer to these logging in problems as I’ve not looked at it in depth but I do know there can be problems with cookies when you have more than one window or tab from the same site open. Also, I believe, the cookies set by unicyclist.com are different when you log in depending on whether you click remember me or not (is that right Gilby?).
I’ve only had a problem once on here but it’s happened to me on other sites. Not sure if they use vBulletin or not though.
